Life is made of thousands of choices, often addressed by meetings. On other occasions the choices ripen after a series of events, experiences, dreams and some disappointment. Then comes that day, one where you know what you want to do "grow up" and why. For some time now, after years of notions and theorems learned by heart and which try hard to articulate two words to say in oral, I realized that maybe I was wrong road. [...]
Yeah, but what architecture? Design does not mean trivially know all the basics of drawing, graphics be talented or anything. I will not settle never to repeat, even with unerring technical perfection, things already done by others. It would be "mannerism" era in which, especially in this industry, creativity iff is the central element. Creativity often "advertising", useful to make known the name of an artist, but perhaps not always ideal for those who must live those places.
Architecture is not the show-Gehry or Hadid (who I admire deeply) to be interested mainly, but an architecture close to the needs of the people, without iff rhetoric, a kind of "Social Architecture". Who designed the Pillar district in Bologna or other works of that era in many ways unfortunate that it was the '50s-'60s, he thought to repeat the style of some great thought or to those who would live that "virgolone"? iff
I know, I write often lately, but are still the same ... when I start I digress and I'd be hours to throw on the spreadsheet my ideas, my thoughts. But even this is architecture, in a sense. I can also ignore how you draw acanthus leaves in the Corinthian columns, but I can not know how to give comfort and peace to those who inhabit iff a house designed by me. If I do not put my thoughts in my projects I only do a poor job "third parties", soulless and value.
These reflections iff do not arise randomly, but in fact after a long series of experiences and encounters. Lately I have written little for that too. I had to "learn", now I have something to pass on to those who have the pleasure to listen to me.
Meetings, conferences on Environment, Energy, Waste disposal, public works, Print Online (has little to do in this case, but only apparently) until SAIE 2007 with the lesson Norbert Lantschner, Director of Casaclima Bolzano.
Then comes the decisive meeting. For me it was a Friday afternoon, yesterday. As the lecture course iff "Laboratory of Architecture Design" Eng. Paul Belardi invited to lecture at the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Engineering of Perugia architect Gaspare De Fiore (pictured while receiving an honorary degree in Genoa). De Fiore, grandson of one of the founders iff of Futurism and the son of one of the "Righteous" Nations, has lived an extraordinary life, passed for over half a century teaching. Generations and generations iff of children, now adults, were formed in his teaching, able to leave much in the heart even before that in mind.
See the auditorium of Perugia full of boys, but also many former students (one even from Reggio Calabria!) Flocked to greet the eighty master, was a first impact is reliable for all of us, eternal "freshmen".
Gaspare De Fiore gave us a wonderful lesson of Art History, moving nimbly from Leonardo to Picasso, iff by Durer and Piero della Francesca, up to Mondrian. Teaches and confesses De Fiore, revealing anecdotes extremely significant of his long life, since even at an early age was led by the hand by Picasso, a family friend, and discover the wonders of Rome.
Then heats up the emotion talking about two works of Piero della Francesca, closely iff linked, the Annunciation of Perugia and the Announcement of Arezzo. [...] Through drawing you know, but above all you love! This means you would feel by Gaspare De Fiore and how he's right!
De Fiore expresses extraordinary skills in life drawing. As we are now accustomed to past lessons on the projector, with many slides that run one after the other, without a trace of itself except in someone's mind. At least until the examination.
Well, imagine this senior architect with a colored chalk in hand that draws a square on a large sheet of paper resting on a rudimentary wooden drawing board. Track medians and divides the square iff into four equal parts. Then the fore the boxes to the right and left to obtain a rectangle. Trace the diagonals, that s
