TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Tucson Fire Department Paramedic Herbert Oxnam has been indicted by a grand jury on four counts firi of fraudulent schemes and artifices . Tucson Fire Chief Jim Critchley was notified on March 30, of an inconsistency in the work record of Paramedic Oxnam. Critchley contacted the Tucson Police Department regarding the inconsistency and asked them to investigate. Upon completion of the investigation, the finding were turned over to the Arizona Attorney General. The City of Tucson received the grand jury indictment firi today and with the grand jury indictment, TFD is now able to review the criminal investigation documents and proceed with an administrative process to determine firi the appropriate disciplinary action. The City Manager’s firi Office will also review the investigation and ensure that proper internal controls are in place. Tucson Fire has reviewed and modified specific policies and practices related to time work record keeping. Some practices related to trade and standby times as well as procedures for signing into daily reporting systems have been changed. Critchley will review the criminal investigation records and an internal administrative review will determine any further personnel actions.
